What a wonderful career Trooper Haywood had! How proud his family must be! What a true example of civil servant protecting the citizens of NYC and Florida. No doubt Trooper Haywood touched many lives during his careers and will be sorely missed. My sincere condolences go to his family and they try to cope with this tragic loss of their beloved family member. My condolences also go to Trooper Haywood's law enforcement family, as they cope with their loss, as well. God's blessings on you all.

Sounds like Trooper Haywood had taken a "retirement" job in sunny Florida after working tirelessly 20 years for NYPD. It's always tragic when an officer dies but I always feel more sorrow when it is someone who should be close to retirement. All that hard work and dedication deserves a reward of family time, travelling, hobbies. I guess Trooper Haywood was given the ultimate reward in heaven. God Bless. A hero sleeps in heaven today.

To the family, friends, and other officers you are in my prayers. This is a great loss . Police officers are very special people.I lost a very good friend Chief Caton on July 11,2004.He lost his life in the line of duty in an auto accident while going on an assist with another officer. The pain is so deep .Because of him is how i found this odmp.I only have respect for the people who wear the badge and do the job everyday.Trooper Haywood I'm sure you gave it your all now go rest and patrol the streets of heaven I never knew you but i must thankyou for your of service.God bless you and your family. To the family, friends and co-workers my prayers are with you. There is nothing anyone can say to help you, I wish there was. The one thing that help me was knowing the fact that Clint loved being a police officer and would not have traded places with anyone, except maybe another officer. And Clint died loving what he did, and I know he is in heaven watching over all of us, just as Darryl will watch over all of you.
Trooper Haywood your family will miss you everyday, but we will never forget you. Look Clint up for me tell him we think of him and miss him everyday.
