Hartley F. Richter

Patrolman Richter was killed in an automobile accident while attempting to stop a traffic violator. He lost control of his patrol car and struck a tree on River Road. He was transported to a local hospital where he died five days later.

Patrolman Richter had served with the agency for 1 year. He was survived by his wife and three children.

Your heroism and service is honored today, the 65th anniversary of your death. Your memory lives and you continue to inspire. Thank you for your service. My cherished son Larry Lasater was a fellow police officer who was murdered in the line of duty on April 24, 2005 while serving as a Pittsburg, CA police officer.

Time never diminishes respect. Your memory will always be honored and revered.
