Officer Franklin you are a true hero. Thank you for your service. To the Franklin family, my condolences to you and although the pain is virtually unbearable, some day you may find comfort in those who have been there as well. I have been there, lost a co-worker, a close friend. I'm sure he was a great man and I know he is a hero.

Officer Tyron Franklin you are a true hero. Very few pin a badge and a gun and go out there and risk their lives on a daily basis. I'm truly sorry to hear of a loss of a true crimefighter. Even though your tour was short and shortened by a ruthless thug.

I wish the best for your son and family. I will pray for your son. I have four children and I know that feeling everyday I drive off to work, will they see me again???

God bless the fine men and woman at the Paterson Police Department!!!

My sincerest condolences to P/O Franklin's family, friends and fellow officers. It is very sad that this young officer and father of a young child was taken from us with his whole life and that of his child ahead of him by a COWARD PUNK that punished P/O Franklin with 6 fatal gunshots because he chose to protect and serve his community rather than take a path that is so easy and tempting to take...the path that the thug that took his life decided to take. I can only assume this, but given his 8 months of service, it seems likely that he marched with his academy class in the funeral processions for our recent fallen JCPD and/or EOPD brother officers as an academy recruit...I can only imagine what it must feel like for the members of that academy class. May P/O Franklin now rest in peace and join his brethren on patrol in the streets of Heaven.
