Reflections for Police Officer Tyron Donta Franklin

Time to Learn

The hand is cold
that once held mine.
I can't believe you've really left this world behind,
I can't wait,
I can't hope,
I'll get over this in time.

"It takes time to learn
when someone's gone for good,
their not coming back
like you wish they would.
In the empty hours,
when you miss them so,
then it's time to learn
to let them go."

Your last hours
we never knew,
we never had the chance
to say goodbye to you,
Words unsaid and things undone,
we just begun
and now we'll never see them through.

I heard these words sung on a cd - Yes it will take time to ease the pain you feel, I am still learning! May God give you a measure of comfort

Aloha. You were so young and just starting in the department. You will not be forgotten. God bless your family and friends. It scares me to know there are people in our great nation that would do this to another human for a few dollars. Mahalo.

I don't even no how I ended up on this website. I guess you lead me here to talk to you in this form. I was wacthing David Icke's film, "Freedom Road". A film where he is talking about life and Love. Then I went online to search for a 11 year old boy name Mike Depinto, who got kick out of school because he wore a uniform that was not suitable for his school. Then I thought about doing the same thing Mike did with a hat, with other symbols on it, expressing my thoughts. While, wearing the t-shirt I have of you. Just, to say that you should never live you life in fear. Because, you never did and you always showed me that. It's only Love. It was no reason for me to type this because you already knew what I was going to type. But, I still had to do it. I'm not sure this message will be displayed on this website. Because, of what I'm talking about. But, you already know I LOVE YOU TY and I know you LOVE ME TOO! I'm will make sure we have to a chance to play paint ball for you. I have been keeping the card you gave me in my pocket and I will hold on to it forever. I'll make sure I will take care of TJ and spend time with him. He is very funny. I know you are not gone you are always here with all of us. We are all one. Plus, I still see you in my dreams and you do still talk to me. That's cool. At least you did not forget about me! I will make sure I'll never forget about you and your family. I would like to say thank you for everyone who left TY a message. It truly shows that you care. If only we as people can show this same LOVE with every moment when someone is alive and with ourselves. Maybe we can make things better in this life. LOVE!

To the parents and family of officer Franklin. i found out that earth has no sorrow that heaven can not heal. your family members life was taken without a cause but the truth of the matter is that if the police don't take every murder as serious as they took mr Franklin's murder killers are going to keep taking lives and getting away with it all of these unsolved killings that has been happening is so sad. i pray that God will help you mother and father of mr. Franklin through every birthday, xmas, etc that reminds you of your son. also may God give the mother of his son straight to raise him to be a strong and smart young man like his father.

Tyron, it has been one month ago today that we last spoke and saw each other. Tonight I will visit your final resting place, as well as the place where you took some of your last breaths. I will listen carefully because I know you are with us in spirit and I hope to hear from you. You are the bravest man I ever met and I almost feel scared to know you are not physically here to protect us, even though I do know you are watching over us and protecting us through God. Not a day goes by where I do not think of you and cry. We are ALL taking very good care of T.J. and he will grow up one day to hopefully be a man and a father just like you! We love you Ty. Til we will meet again...
Love, Jen

I just stumbled upon this story as I was gathering information for a school report. I just wanted to say how sorry I am for the loss of Mr. Frankln to his loved ones. On Sunday, Jan. 7th, 2007, I too lost a friend. She died a different death from Mr. Franklin though. (She died of lung cancer.) She left behind three daughters, ages 10, 16 and 23. She was only 40 years old. I know that she was older than Mr. Franklin and had a longer life, and certainly wasn't a hero either. But like Mr. Franklin, she was loved and will be missed as well. Just know that they are both most likely are in Heaven smiling down on us.
I am obviously not a police officer, and I hope I'm not out of line for sending this to you either. I certainly don't want to be thought of as someone being disrespectful to anyone. I just wanted to express my sympathy to you-the family and friends. I pray that God will make your loss bearable and that you remember that he is in a better place now. God bless you all. Abby
