Those of us who wear the uniform do it because we love what we do. We never think of ourselves as heros until one of us pays the ultimate sacrifice. We all thank you for your courage and dedication. You will be truly missed.

To the Family of Officer Sheila Herring-Patrick,
I am deeply saddened to hear of another officer down and the year just started. I too am still grieving for my brother who not long ago got killed in the line of duty. It is ironic how my brother was not wearing his vest and he did not make it. Officer Patrick was wearing her vest and she
also did not survive. I can't think of the many times I asked myself why did'nt he have his vest on...he would still be here today. I've come to realize that everyone is put here for a time but yet we don't know how long. I am more than sure that both my brother and Officer Patrick loved their jobs and knew the dangers it brought. At the same time it is people such as these officers that keep our communities and our cities safe. I feel that they are watching over us and continue to protect us from up above.
