John Buxton

Agent Buxton was shot and killed after responding to gunshot reports near Rock Springs, Wyoming. He located two subjects at the scene and informed them that hunting season was over. He confiscated a rifle from the two and as he went to place it in his vehicle the suspect called to him. When he turned around the suspect shot him with a handgun he had concealed in his coat.

The suspect was apprehended and sentenced to not less then 20 years.

Agent Buxton was survived by his wife and three children.

Your heroism and service is honored today, the 93rd anniversary of your death. Your memory lives and you continue to inspire. Thank you for your service. My cherished son Larry Lasater was a fellow police officer who was murdered in the the line of duty on April 24, 2005 while serving as a Pittsburg, CA police officer.

Time never diminishes respect. Your memory will always be honored and revered.
