Chief Deputy Locke was shot and killed while attempting to arrest a man during a domestic disturbance. He was trying to coax a man to come out of a closet who had threatened to shoot his wife when the man suddenly shot him. The man then shot and killed himself.

My cherished son Larry Lasater was a fellow police officer murdered in the line of duty on April 24, 2005 while serving as a Pittsburg, CA police officer.
