Officer Krueger was shot and killed while he and four other officers attempted to arrest a man for threatening to kill his wife in an apartment building. The suspect opened fire on the officers who were in the hallway, striking Officer Krueger with a shotgun blast. The suspect was shot and killed by other officers.
