Officer Kent was shot and killed after pulling over a man wanted for bank robbery and kidnapping in three states. As he approached the vehicle the man shot him. The suspect was arrested and executed for the murder in 1936.

You passed 78 years ago 12 years before I was born. I always wanted to be a Highway patrol Officer and I started my career in 1969. That was 66 years from when you were killed in the line of duty. God Bless you and always know that you will never be forgotten. You missed so much by passing so young. WWII, Korea and Viet Nam....I understand your love for being a Highway Patrol Officer. Semper Fi Officer Kent and someday we will meet and patrol the heavens together...
