Officer Jansen was accidentally shot and killed by another officer while investigating a suspicious person in the 700 block of York Street. He was survived by his wife, 2-year-old daughter and 6-month-old son.

My cherished son Larry Lasater was a fellow police officer murdered in the line of duty on April 24, 2005 while serving as a Pittsburg, CA police officer.
