Trooper Hoffman had served with the South Dakota Highway Patrol for two years. He was survived by his wife and two daughters.

32 years dad you've been gone...not one day that I don't think of you. I miss you more than ever. I wish my boys and I could have just one day with you. Time passes but we will never forget you.
