Sergeant Fowler was injured when his motorcycle fell onto of him. Sergeant Fowler had pulled away on his motorcycle without kicking up his kick stand. When Sergeant Fowler turned the kick stand caught in the street car tracks in the street causing him to fall from the motorcycle. The motorcycle landed on top of Sergeant Fowler, fracturing his skull. Sergeant fowler died two days later from the injury.
Sergeant Fowler had been with the agency for four years.

Your service is honored today, the 72nd anniversary of your death. Your memory lives and you continue to inspire. Thank you for your service. My cherished son Larry Lasater was a fellow police officer murdered in the line of duty on April 24, 2005 while serving as a Pittsburg, CA police officer.
