Pilot Crater and Pilot James Taylor were killed in an aircraft accident near Palm Springs, California, while conducting a night time tactical flight. The aircraft struck a 300-foot ridge during the flight, killing both pilots.

My cherished son Larry Lasater was a fellow police officer murdered in the line of duty on April 24, 2005 while serving as a Pittsburg, CA police officer.
