Sheriff Anderson Lewis was shot and killed while attempting to arrest two brothers who were drinking.

At the time, Sheriff Lewis was sheriff of Gains County, Indian Terrirtory, which later became Pittsburg County.

He was survived by his wife and two chidlren.

My cherished son Larry Lasater was a fellow police officer murdered in the line of duty on April 24, 2005 while serving as a Pittsburg, CA police officer. You died serving Pittsburg County in Oklahoma. Your memory is honored and revered.
