Deputy Chester Summa succumbed to gunshot wounds sustained one week earlier when he encountered a man whose car blocked the roadway. He was shot when he asked the man to move his car.

Despite being seriously wounded, he was able to return fire and killed the suspect.

This year I have been fortunate to have been assigned to ride the Police Unity Tour in your honor. I am honored to make the trip in your name. I will make the journey knowing that you are my motivation and I will not let you down. As you walk the beat with all of our other fallen brothers and sisters, know that you sir, have not been forgotten and will always be remembered. I am proud to ride for you.
