Deputy Rudy Gonzales was killed in a traffic accident while responding to a domestic disturbance call.

The driver of another vehicle going in the opposite direction, at a high rate of speed, crossed the median and struck Deputy Gonzales' patrol car head-on.

I attended the Academy with Rudy at South Plains College in Levelland, TX. Rudy empressed on me and our classmates true professionalism and he had the respect of all of us.
I have our class picture up on a wall. I still have my class shirt (like the one he is wearing in his picture).
