James E. Walker

Patrolman Walker was killed in a motorcycle accident. Patrolman Walker and his partner were returning to Headquarters to turn in their motorcycles because it had begun to rain. As the officers neared the intersection of North Parkway and Avalon Street a car pulled out from a side street. To avoid the car, Officer Walker swerved. He lost control of his motorcycle and stuck a tree. He was taken to Saint Joseph's Hospital where he died from his injuries two hours later.
