Sergeant Sergeant Fernando Robles suffered a fatal heart attack shortly after breaking up a fight between two men in the parking lot of a local mall.

Sergeant Robles and his wife were waiting in the parking lot to pick up their son when two men began fighting and fell onto the hood of his car. Sergeant Robles identified himself as a police officer and told the men to stop fighting. The men continued fighting and Sergeant Robles and a bystander physically separated the two and held them down. Sergeant Robles suffered a fatal heart attack moments later. He was taken to a local hospital where he died three days later.

Sergeant Robles was survived by his wife and son.
