Our hearts and thoughts go out to the family and friends of our fallen brother. All I have to offer you are a few simple words from my heart. I hope they somehow help describe who and what we in uniform are and possibly give you some comfort in your time of need.

A life in service to mankind is never wasted no matter how short, nor is it spent foolishly or in search of glory. Placing ones self between harm and ugliness and justice and right is a place tread by oh so few and only those who have walked there can truly understand the full cost of walking that path for long. Take comfort in knowing that he did not choose the path that took him, the path chose him, for to walk and stay that path, your heart must be bold as a lion, your conscience clean and your soul without tarnish. Whatever your religious beliefs, please know this. I believe that God and the Saints watch over us and ours, we selfless few that wear the “Blue”. I believe that although God cannot stop the evil men do for the free will he gave us, understand that the price paid later for taking one of his guardians will be heavy. Please, don’t feel for a moment that you are alone, that few care about those left behind, because we in blue are all connected as I hope you shall shortly see. In Gods grace we find solace, in friends and family we find comfort and in our memory of the fallen we find the courage to stand up, cast off our shroud and continue on.

For each of us that evil has taken, let good men rise in their place, seek it out and trample it into the dust.
