Reflections for Police Officer Andrew Allen Widman

At times like this words escape us. I'm sure it is difficult to express your anguish. It is also difficult to express the depth of our sadness at your loss. I always say our lives are like a movie. We only see one frame at a time but God sees it in its entirety. I can't tell you why you were robbed of your husband's and your Father's life . But I can say with great assurance that you will see him again someday and until that day God will carry and strengthen you. The Psalmist said, "God is the strength of my heart." In this dark and painful time you will find that stength and the peace that passes all understanding as God watches over you, the family of Officer Andrew Widman. Please know and understand that your husband and Father was operating in one of the highest callings of all, that of protecting and serving the people of his community. In the difficult days ahead remember that Andrew is not gone, he only stepped over to the other side. The thoughts and prayers of our family are with you and the children.

God I pray that you place a "Hedge of Protection" around Officer Widman's Family, Friends and Fellow Officers. I would pray that you keep "Angels watching and walking with them every step". When I was in the Marine Corps they taught us the Marines Motto. It is "Semper Fi" and it means "Always Faithful". Today Officer Widman was 200% "Always Faithful". Don't worry because we will step up and pick up right where you left off. We all are brothers forever. Your watch has came to a end but we all be seeing you soon.
