Eric,
I wish I could just turn back the clock..just make things different than what they are. My heart is aching for your family and friends. I wish I had the words to make Les feel some comfort..right now I don't think they exist..she has lost a part of herself. I know God always knows what is best and he has a purpose in everything..but to be honest I keep asking him why. You would be so proud of how your brothers in blue are watching over your family..they are amazing.
We love you and miss you..but we will all rejoice together one day!

I worked with Eric about 12 years ago at Adtran and he left a lasting impression. He was a funny, smart, and energetic young man who wanted a career in law enforcement. I am proud that he was able to fulfill that dream but devastated that his life was cut so short. My prayers go out to his family and friends. This is a tragic loss for them and the entire community.

I met Officer Freeman once at the North Precinct. He stopped and spoke with mew for several minutes while waiting for my dad. I am so sorry that his family has to deal with this senseless crime of violence. I hope that everyone says a prayer for his wife and kids who have to deal with the loss of a husband and father at Christmas. I hope everyone remembers the ultimate sacrifice that Officer Freeman made for all of us.

Son of HPD Officer

I ponder once again why it is that a hero is taken from the ranks of the brothers in blue.

Each day we put on our uniforms, strap on our equipment, and proudly walk out the door to protect the citizens of our communities and nation not knowing if we will return to our families.

My brother in blue, god bless you, your department, and your family. Rest in peace.

Detective Mike Cox
Hamilton County Sheriff's Office

Somebody killed a policeman today, and part of America died.
A piece of our country he swore to protect, will be buried with him at his side.
The suspect that shot him will stand up in court, with counsel demanding his rights.
While a young widowed mother must work for her kids, and spend many long, lonely nights.
The beat that he walked was a battle field too, just as if he'd gone off to war.
Though the flag of our nation won't fly at half mast, to his name they will add a gold star.
Yes, somebody killed a policeman today, in your town or mine.
While we slept in comfort behind our locked doors, a cop put his life on the line/Auther Unknown

God bless the Freeman family and fellow Officers and Dispatchers that will miss Officer Freeman. All my love, thoughts and prayers are with you all.
