I miss Deputy Nunez. She worked hard to be a road patrol officer and the world needs to know that she was strong and loved her career in law enforcement.

Margena, I was proud to serve with you in East District at LCSO. Your Spanish interpretation skills came in handy on many of our calls together and your professionalism was always evident in your demeanor and the way you interacted with Lee County citizens. Since your senseless death I have had several of Lehigh's citizens tell me how much they liked you and the way you served them in your job. Godspeed to you, our angel and thank you for your service and friendship.

My dear sister Deputy Margena Nunez I still remember the laughs we had in the academy it was fun. You told me once in school. Torres why are you so down, you'll make it. We started together and we'll finish together. Margena was a motivating perdon if you where down she left up and you sad she'd make you laugh. On behalf of Deputy Torres and Family God Bless you and your family.

When I tearfully read the Reflections the many fellow Officers across the Nation, I found myself yet again, praying for the loss experience to the Nunez family and her fellow officers. This driver committed a senseless act that can never be corrected or reverse, a life of yet another officer is taken. We never know what tomorrow will bring in this job, but we all try to be strong in our Faith to God, the Love of our Country, the Protection of Innocent Lives and the Commitment we make when wearing the Badge of Honor. It is this honor that makes us put our lives on the line so others may live in peace and be safe in their homes, and person. It is also this honor that sometimes calls us home before we think we are ready to go. God will always walk with the families of the Fallen Heroes and one day, we will all meet again in Gods house. To the Nunez family and Deputy Sheriff Nunez's extended Family, the Lee County Sheriff's Office, our hearts and prayers are with you all in your time of loss. Walk with God and find peace knowing Deputy Sheriff Nunez was loved by a very large extended Law Enforcement Family who will always be there to help the family through the hard times. Deputy Nunez will never be forgotten. Rest well my sister in law enforcement, your with God now.

Margena,

This is probably the hardest thing I have ever had to write. You were a great Deputy Sheriff and a great co-worker. You always had a smile on your face. You brought joy to others, even though you didn't know you were doing so. The joy was from the way you carried yourself, on and off of duty, and the smile you always had on your face. You always had a kind word to share with everyone. Our loss here on earth is unbearable, but I take comfort in knowing that you are in a much better place now than we are. Our loss is but God’s gain. God had a need that only you could take care of, so he called you home. Your family will be taken care of by all of your Brothers and Sisters that so proudly wear the uniform of the LEE COUNTY SHERIFF"S OFFICE. You rest in peace my Sister. Gone but never forgotten.

I will always remember her smile. She seemed to have a joke or good word for everyone, especially first thing in the morning. She has touched our hearts, and her passing has left a void. Earth's loss is Heaven's gain.

As a corrections officer, you once filled our jail hallways with your laughter, smile and sweet voice. There are so many memories of you here, you will never be forgotten. You were our friend and a part of our LCSO family. You were a wonderful person with a huge heart and beautiful soul. Your life was taken by somone who will never realize the tragic loss he caused your family, friends and the community. Thank you for your friendship, service and dedication. We will love and miss you always. We wish we could have protected you but we know your one of God's angels now still serving to protect others.
