Lord,
He was yours to give,
and yours to call home,
please stand by his brothers,
so they don't feel alone,
dry the tears of his family,
so they clearly see:
that he gave his all,
so all could have peace.
Blessed are they,
the children of God,
with heavy hearts,
and honor they trod,
to pay their respects,
to give their salute,
and to ask for your mercy,
on heroes in Blue.
Amen.

Cory, rest easy brother, we have the watch.

My thoughts and prayers are with you, to the family, I can only imagine your pain, for my husband is an officer,to his friends, i lost one of my closest friends in Nov. Sgt Scott Neal EOW 11-23-2005, and the pain is still so great that sometimes it is hard to call or see his wife, who is one of my closest friends in the world. remember that Deputy Ricks' wife will need your love and support during this time of loss. I can not stress to you the importance of friends and how you will all help each other through. to his fellow officers and dispatchers, i have lost officers, remember the good times, the laughs, and the reason that we all do what we do. Just know that you are not alone.

"A MAN IN BLUE"

A man in blue has lost his life in service of law.
The love that makes this sacrifice the greatest love of all.
A Police man was killed today, the reason I cannot say.
I don't know why he had to die.
The man in blue died for me and you;
we must remember him too.
Flags fly low, let use bow in prayer
for fallen police men everywhere;
and remember this: that they are missed.
The badge burns bright like an evening star
free from a world of war.

My most heartfelt condolences to the family, friends and fellow officers of Deputy Ricks. My condolences also to the family of the juvenile riding with Deputy Ricks.

To his wife - I share your agony. I lost my husband in the line of duty almost 10 months ago and am also left to raise two children on my own. This is an incredibly painful journey that I never expected to take. I will pray for you, that you will find the strength and courage to get through this tragedy. Cory is walking Heaven's streets of gold and is forever safe in the arms of the angels. Hold on tight to your precious little ones and know that their daddy will be with them always, in everything they do. He will help to guide and protect you as you continue on without him.

Deputy Ricks, thank you for your service and sacrifice. May God bless you and may you rest in peace, Blue Angel.
