Reflections for Trooper Ralph Charles Tatoian

hey fella, do you think you can do something about the rain? If i have to dig out the bank one more time so we can get the ARGO across the river im gonna explode. Seriously about to build an Ark. Your dad did say that if we cant get across the river we have to go 2 per deer stand. I immediatly called being with Nick so we could have squiggle time and possibly a puppet show or two.

I just learned of your death this evening as I browsed through various agencies. Through all the messages left, I know you were one squared away trooper. My thoughts and prayers are with your family and friends. I really enjoyed that story about you and your fellow troopers drinking beer and just enjoying one anothers company at the sniper school. Louisiana troopers have the same type of brotherhood. I'll have a cold one for you and all your fellow Missouri Troopers. RIP and God Bless your family and friends.

How is it that there are still days that I wake up and can't believe you are really gone? Missing you.

The kids are getting so big and growing so fast. They are always well behaved and respectful. You would be so proud, just as you always were. Keep watching over all of us. Stay close.

I thought about you today. About the barbeque and the burgers and the whole family. Sam is so big and so smart. I wish you could see her. I miss you and all your family so much. We are all trying to make you proud.

I love and miss you big brother

Today was the first day in a long time when the pain of losing you really hit me. It's so unfair to all of us, but especially to your parents and Debbie and your kids. I can't believe Sam is old enough to go to college. I just wanted to say that I look at your picture every day and we all miss you a lot. Let your mom continue to feel you with her, I think she needs it.

I was just thinking of the sniper school we went to. What a blast. Hotter than hell and bathing in the creek. We stayed up every night until we ran out of beer. Every day we went in to town and bought more but that did not work either all we did was drink more that night. Then crazy Lt. Rothrock opened up the mason jar. After everyone else went to sleep we started on that and finished that bottle. I am suprised we were able to see the next morning after drinking whatever the hell that was. Just some short stories for your family. While at the sniper school one of our assignments was a stalk. After going through the woods for a while we decided the sneaky way to get close was to wade up the creek. I informed the other guys the rocks were very slick and to be careful. Ralph started in on the rest of us because the water was up to our waste but up to his chest. Then Ralphy slipped. Holey shit! :) The water went up to Ralphies neck. Being sneaky was over we were all laughing our asses off. Just made the conversation after a few beer even funnier.

Ralph-
I just wanted to wish you a Happy Birthday. Please send signs to your family to let them know you are near them.

You have such a great family and I will always cherish the picture that your Mom gave me shortly after your death of the two of us. I just have a question for you,"What were our parents thinking dressing us like that?" I'm sure that was the style back then.

Tell Nick we said hi and I'm sure you guys are celebrating up there.

Happy Birthday.....

We`re coming up on yet another birthday that I can`t call and wish you the best. My first born, 37 years ago. I remember that wonderful day like it was yesterday. To have such a wonderful son and then have you taken away. It doesn`t matter how old your child is, they are still YOUR child. The pain doesn`t go away, but eases a bit over time. I am thankful to have you as long as I did. You have missed so much. Your sister has a new son. Named Charles Allen. They call him Charlie. He was named after your middle name, and Rays brothers middle name. We had a great party for Sam in your backyard. The one you loved so much. Alot of the Baden Boys were there with their families. All that was missing was you. Please know that you will be forever on my mind and in my heart. I will see you on the 3rd. Happy Birthday my sweetheart.

It was natural to you, to touch everyone
in your unique way. Now we are left with
the silence, where there was once laughter
and song. Comfort each of us everyday and
help us learn to sing again. You are
forever in our hearts. We miss you, RIP

Sweetheart, not a day goes by that I don't think of you. Deb is an amazing woman; your children carry your legacy and remind me what a great a father you were. Watch over them along with your parents. The pain never goes away, my only comfort comes from knowing you are in heaven.

As that dreadful date approaches once again; please
wrap your arms around your loved ones and keep them
safe and warm. You will be in all our thoughts and
prayers. It has been a long four years.

Ralph, No words can be said that will take away the pain. You had that special something, that let me know that you cared. I will forever be greatful fo all the time that we shared. I will love and miss you forever. Mom

A Mother's Love

I need no pictures
to remember your warm smile;
the lines of your face
are embedded in my memory of you.

I gave you life in one second of pain,
for which you returned years
of yourself-
sometimes quiet, sometimes noisy,
but always thoughtful.

Sometimes I hear a voice that sounds
like you, and I pause.
That pang of hurt stems from a tiny
empty spot you have left in my life.
I carried you in my womb,
then later in my arms.
But I will carry you in my heart
forever.
- Joy Morning
