As a mom I'm proud of my son and the many deputys that are willing to sacrifice their lifes for this county, every day they go out the door they may never come back home to the one's who love them the most.Blake was doing what he loved to do and I thank you for watching my son's back and the others. Now you can watch their back from a safer place and I know you will Blake. You will never leave or forsake your fellow officer's. Thank you for making my family and children safer in DC. Will see you again.

When the final roll call is made and the cadences are counted, the Peace Officer will stand at the head of the column. You, who wear the badge and weapon, will mark the heart and soul of a nation and you reflect the goodness and sacrifice that all wish they could wear. God bless you and your family. May your soul rest in eternal peace and may we live in such a manner that your sacrifice will not have been in vain.

What a tragedy this was. Words cannot express the anger and frustration I feel every time something like this happens. Instead, I'll leave the killer's judgement in God's hands and offer my thoughts and prayers to Deputy Gammill and his family. His children will grow up knowing what a true hero their dad was. May you rest forever in heavenly peace. Thank you for your bravery and service.
