Edward J. Seitz

Special Agent Edward Seitz was killed in a mortar attack on Camp Victory in Baghdad, Iraq. A U.S. soldier was also wounded in the attack. Special Agent Seitz served as the Assistant Regional Security Officer to the U.S. Embassy in Baghdad.

Agent Seitz was the second federal agent killed during a mortar attack while detailed to Iraq to conduct investigations related to the War on Terror.

Special Agent Seitz had formally served as a police officer for the Cleveland Heights, Ohio Police Department, and East Cleveland, Ohio Police Department. He is survived by his wife, brother, and parents.

Dear Joyce,
You might not remember me, but I handled a mortgage loan for you and Ed, around 2002 or so. I knew of his passing then, but never reached out to send you my regrets about his patriotism and subsequent passing. How courageous a man you were fortunate to spend the 10 or 20 years with... For whatever reason, I think of him and others who fought for US...our freedom, or liberties in the most wonderful country on earth. I salute him, and thank you for from my family to yours..
