Reflections for Officer Jeffery Alan Wroten
Hey Shrek;
I think about you often. Miss ya big time! Carol & I moved to the St Louis, MO area. That's where the parent's of the little girl that Carol baby sits is from. We 1st met them in Aiken, SC, then they moved backed to their home town of St Louis. They asked us to move with them so Carol could continue to baby sit their daughter and any other little ones that might come along. You'd love Elaina, she's soooooo cute!

Hi Jeff;
It's been 5 long years, but as your sister said, 'The number seems so large when it still feels this close'. I miss the many hours we spent in conversation, sharing each others problems, our innermost thoughts & beliefs. And Jeff above all else I miss your words of encouragement & the sharing of faith & our love for God! RIP Shrek!

Your heroism and service is honored today, the fifth anniversary of your death. Your memory lives and you continue to inspire. Thank you for your service. My cherished son Larry Lasater was a fellow police officer who was murdered in the line of duty on April 24, 2005 while serving as a Pittsburg, CA police officer.
Time never diminishes respect. Your memory will always be honored and revered for your selfless and distinquished service to our country in the aftermath of 9/11. I pray for solace for all those who love and remember you for I know both the pain and pride are forever.
Rest In Peace

Jeff, it is hard to believe that five years have gone by without you here. I know you are watching over us. A lot of things have changed and a lot of things are still the same. But everything is different without you. Your perspective was unique. Your thoughts and opinions mattered and they are missed. We love you!

5 years ago today you spent your last day on earth... we make sure the girls remember all the wonderful details of that day, right down to you disco dancing in the kitchen with them before you went home to go to work. Life has never been the same without you... it never will be. You are missed everyday. Our girls are growing up to be wonderful young women. I know you would be so proud of them.

I can't believe it's been 4 years since you were taken from us. Our girls are growing up so fast. There's not a day goes by I don't wish you were here for them! Your brothers and sisters have been so good to us and have become such a large part of our life. We're truly blessed. I hope wherever you are, you feel the love and know you are remembered each and every day!

Forgive me for missing the anniversary of your E.O.W., but I felt as though I could not continue to read about so many tragedies. I now realize the visit each day to leave a word of encouragement and hope to the loved ones of others, helps me to remember that I am not alone with my pain and heartbreak. So may I say to your friends and loved ones that my thoughts and prayers are with them now and always. Continue to keep watch over them and those still out on patrol and may they know you will never be forgotten.

Jeff buddy, It's already been two years today. We all miss you very much. I think of you every time I enter the institution. Sometimes, I still think you might be there to greet me, but then I see the memorial out front and remember that I will never see you there again. All of us at RCI love you and your family and you will always be in our hearts and minds.

Jeff,
Another birthday for you. And no matter how many there are you will still be older than me! Our little joke! I miss you so much. You are in my thoughts daily. I think of so many things I wish I had done different. I always tried to do what I thought was best, but we never truly know what was best until afterward. You were and still are such a huge part of me. You helped make me who I am. I wish you were here so I could call you and give you a hard time.
All my love.

Yesterday was Memorial day, I thought about you all day long. Miss you so much!!! The Huntington police department had a memorial service for fallen officers in the Tri-State area and your name was read off. (you know Dad, he knows everyone) Aunt Brenda and I attended and they gave us a rose on your behalf. They also sent dad a letter and a Medal of Valor on your behalf. Dad gave it to me, it meant alot that he did that. So I'm going to have the letter and medal framed and hang it up with a shadow box that I made with alot of stuff that I recieved in Washington. Love you Uncle Jeff, you are my Hero!!!

Jeff,
I had the great honor of riding for you last year and meeting several of your co-workers and family at the end of the Police Unity Tour. This year, I'm riding for another fallen brother, but still think of you often. Once again, thanks for making the ultimate sacrifice.
