What a beautiful family you left behind, Officer Wroten. Joys and sorrows are woven fine, and I had the privilege of laughing and crying with them during COPS Kids Camp last week. Your family is proud of you, and you would be proud of the way they are struggling to move on doing the best they can. Watch over all of us, and give us strength; it won't be long until we'll all be together again.

Uncle Jeff,
I've got to spend this past week with the girls and Christian. It was great, they are great kids and so loving. I hate that I have to leave and there spending another week here. I'm going to miss them. But I wanted to tell you, you have 5 wonderful kids.
I Love You!

Jeff,
Today is Independence Day. I wore your shirt to the parade. This year I didn't cry when the local DOC float passed by. I stood with my head up and pride in my heart.
We love you and miss you so much.

You gave no one a last farwell,
Nor ever said good-bye.
You were gone before I knew it,
and only God knows why.
A million times I will miss you.
A million times I will cry.
If love alone could have saved you,
You never would have died.
In life I loved you dearly,
In death I love you still.
In my heart you hold a place,
no one else can fill.
It broke my heart to lose you,
but you didn't go alone,
for part of me went with you,
the day God took you home.
We will meet again someday
I know in a better place.
I thank god he made you a part of my life,
While you were here on Earth.

I want to thank all the wonderful people from MD COPS and all the different agencied that have supported the MD DOC. We had the unreal tragedy of losing two special officers last year. We have never been touched by tragedy and wickedness like this before. You all have taken us into your hearts and shown us love and support that we never knew existed.
Police Week was very busy and filled with mixed emotions. We could not have gotten through it all without you all from MD COPS. You are special people and I believe that God has given you a calling to serve these families. May he continue to bless you in your work.
On behalf of RCI and all of Jeff's friends, thank you all very much. For all that have prayed for Jeff's family we thank you as well. These reflections are touching and comforting. Bless you all!

Jeff,
I had the honor of meeting your daughters Katherine, Kelsie, Chloe, Kaylee and your sister at National Police Week this year. What wonderful girls they all are. Katherine and I had fun playing basketball in the hotel lobby and parking lot. Many wonderful people are looking after your family. Jeff,
It seems like yesterday, not a year ago. We know you are close by, watching, and you were there waiting to help dad cross through the veil. You were always the first one to step in to help anyone you could. You must have a great work to do there, but we still miss you. All of our love.

I continue to follow in the news both the criminal case and changing procedures which result from your untimely death, and I pray justice and awareness will prevail. Thank you for controlling and watching over convicts who have lost their privilege to be a part of our society. You paid the ultimate price for our safety. I attended a gun raffle shortly after your passing and overheard so many, many men who had worked with you speak of what a good guy you were. Their anger over the criminal act was apparent, as was their remorse over losing a friend and special co-worker. Rest in peace. To your family - I hope you find some degree of comfort in the fact that you had a very selfless and giving man in your lives - being married to a former corrections officer, I am familiar with the job.
