Suspect Info: Apprehended Lieutenant Alfred Stewart was shot and killed while searching for the suspect who had shot and killed California Highway Patrol Officer Larry Wetterling earlier in the day.
A passerby, who had a concealed handgun permit, witnessed the shootout between the suspect and Lieutenant Stewart shot and wounded the suspect. The man was then taken into custody and sentenced to 30 years in prison.
