My condolences go out to everyone who was close to Trooper Sauter. I also grew up in Chicago Ridge and went to the same high school as him. I graduated 6 years earlier and don't think I know him or any of his family members but it's a relatively small town and high school. Even though I didn't know him, I do know one thing and that is he made his wife, parents and fellow troopers proud. I've always been impressed by the professional image that the ISP troopers display and the very tough situations that they deal with. Please keep his wife, parents, extended family, friends and fellow law enforcements officer's in your thoughts and prayers. The law enforcement community will always remember the sacrifice he made and will honor him now and forever.
