Joe was an outstanding friend, brother, classmate, and supervisor. I was honored to serve with him and under him as my supervisor. NCCPD has lost a great officer. You will be missed terribly my friend.

"God looked around His garden And found an empty place. He then looked down upon the earth And saw your tired face. He put his arms around you And lifted you to rest. God's garden must be beautiful He always takes the best. He saw the road was getting rough And hills were hard to climb, So He closed your weary eyelids And whispered "Peace be thine". It broke our hearts to lose you But you didn't go alone, For part of us went with you The day God called you home." Irish blessing

In appreciation for the service and sacrifices of yourself and your family.

I am so sorry for your loss. My father Dennis McNamara was killed in the line of duty back in 2001. I can imagine the pain you are having to go through. i can promise you, as long as you always remember the good times, your suffering will ease. Nothing will be easy right now or any time soon. you never forget, and you never get over it, But you will always have your memories and photographs that you should cherish forever. my heart goes out to you and your family <3

As always, I am so very saddened by the terrible loss of life of a Brother, who chose to live the life of a Law Enforcement Officer. This innocent protector of life and freedom lost his life because of the stupid decision of a drunk. Maybe one day the drunk will lose his life because of it.
