It is officers like Sgt. Chapin that made me want to get into law enforcement. Honor and service to the end. May God bless his family and those officers who served with him. As was said of King David ... "he served his own generation by the will of God". May we all continue to serve with integrity and honor like this dear brother.

Sgt, you did not deserve this. You were a wonderful, kind and gentle man who taught me so much. I can't believe that you are gone. It was so hard to walk into the office today and see your empty chair & know that you're not coming back. I know you're in heaven, I know you're in a better place. You're missed so much already. We will never be the same. Rest now Sgt. May God be with your wife and children that you loved so much. May God be with all of us here who are hurting. Rest Sir, we'll take the watch from here. I'll miss you.

Sgt Tim Chapin was a dedicated and loyal police officer for the Chattanooga PD. I met Tim while working with Hamilton Co SO, working adjoining districts with him on 3rd shift in East Brainerd as well as investigations when I was with the Red Bank Police Dept. The news is so heart breaking because we lost a brother officer today. I am honored to have known Tim and heaven just received another protector through Tim Chapin. I pray for strength and support for Tim's family as well as his police family. God, thank you for allowing me the the opportunity to know Tim Chapin. My heart is hurting to with those that knew him.
