Andy was not only a very good officer but a very good friend to many of us. Andy was very active with the Fraternal Order of Police (LAKE ERIE LODGE #17) as he believed deeply in the brotherhood amongst us in law enforcement. Andy was very outgoing and knew how to have a good time. Andy even with a short career had an entire life of law enforcement with his father (Matt) being a veteran of 20+ years with the Sandusky Police Department. Andy will be deeply missed.

Erie County Sheriff's Office/Good Friend

When calamity comes, the wicked are brought down, but even in death the righteous have a refuge - Proverbs 14:32.

Another fallen brother. My heart bleeds with every notification I receive. His family and friends will be in my prayers, especially his little ones.

I grew up in Sandusky and was friends with Andy's next door neighbors on Wayne Street. I remember Andy not as the fine man and exemplory officer he grew up to be, but as a smiling little boy who loved to ride his bike. I'm proud that we both ended up in law enforcement yet very saddened that a page like this had to be created for him.

Andy, I pray that the people of Sandusky unite to make the community that you loved a better place in order to honor your life and the ultimate sacrifice you made while protecting them.

Rest easy brother, we'll take it from here.

Lucas County Sheriff's Office
