I cried for this! Senseless and a cowardly act on a person simply taking a photo. Good that he got his punishment, but my heart breaks for her family. Rest in peace dear

As a woman joining the Sheriff's office I see how much of a minority we are. It's tragic to see an officer loose thier life but it brings it even closer to home when I see another female fall to a coward.
Your watch is complete, we will take it from here and your sacrifice shall never be forgotten.
REST IN PEACE

My thoughts and prayers go out to Deputy Waughtel's husband, children, and fellow law enforcement officers during this time. To put your life on the line to serve and protect others is heroism pure and simple. As the sister of a law enforcement agent it saddens me deeply that such a cowardly act could snuff out such a beautiful life. After reading so much about her and her family I sit in awe of the life she led and all of the countless hours she spent giving of her time. May god wrap his arms around your family and friends and fellow officers. One can only hope your death will not be in vain and at the very least inspire us all to give more of our precious time to others and eachother.

Sue, as I begin my career, it brings great comfort to know the road I will walk down is paved with the dedication, perseverance, and loyalty of outstanding officers such as yourself. From the bottom of my heart I thank you.

"No farewell words were spoken,
No time to say goodbye.
You were gone before we knew it,
and only God knows why."
