Trooper Ambroise,
My heart breaks for your family, friends & co-workers. My first husband was a N.C. State Trooper who was killed like you - he had a vehicle stopped on the side of the interstate & was hit by a tractor trailer who veered off the right side of the road. Last year I was in DC for Police Memorial Day when I learned a former co-worker had been killed that day and it's such a tragedy that someone else was probably there on Saturday who learned of your death. May our Lord wrap his loving arms around your family and carry them through the lonely days ahead. It's a difficult road but there are many survivors out here who will be more than willing to help them. Thanks Trooper!

Although we never met, I am saddened by a loss that cannot be replaced.
Your children and wife will be in my prayers. Watch over us as we fight our daily battles.

"A Tear"

A tear was shed today
for someone I did not know
a tear was shed today
but there's so much pain that we don't show

A tear was shed today
as the cars all followed
a tear was shed today
while the sirens wailed in sorrow

A tear was shed today
while the bugle played so slow
a tear was shed today
while we hung our heads so low

A tear was shed today
as the flag was folded straight
a tear was shed today
how could this have been someone's fate?

A tear was shed this rainy day
for a fallen hero,
oh it didn't have to be this way
a tear was shed today

And there's only one thing I ask
a tear was shed today
oh please Lord let it be the last
