I can't tell you how much it hurts me to read this reflection. My dad was shot and killed with an SKS, also receiving 3 shots to the abdomen. My heart breaks for this family and agency. Know that my prayers are with you all. God bless those he left behind; rest in peace, Deputy Deutch. Thank you for your service, dedication and sacrifice. You will be remembered for the true American hero you are!

To the family/friends and co-workers of Deputy Sheriff Ian Deutch: Nothing grieves me more than to hear of an incident like this where a very honorable young man who has served his county in military service and is serving his jurisdiction in law enforcement is struck down by a suspect's evil act of violence. I want you to know that I admire the courage and sacrifice of your loved one and the courage of the Deputy that was with him. He will forever be remembered.
