Leave a Reflection

Reflections for Deputy Sheriff Charles Douglas "Charlie" Brown, Jr.

Deeply sorrowful, I leave a reflection for a brave, professional and well respected Deputy Sheriff killed by a cowardly enemy. I hope the community will show appreciation for the sacrifice Deputy Charles Brown Jr.
has made, and outrage for this violent attack.

Deputy Brown, may the memory of your heroism, service and sacrifice remain forever. May God bless you, your wife and two daughters as well as the rest of your family. And God bless your fellow brother and sister officers in the Martin County Sheriff's Office. AC

I was in a General Instructor School with Charlie Brown in 2003 in Beaufort County North Carolina. At that time, Charlie worked for Williamston PD and I worked for a different agency also. He was my "partner in the audience" during our 80 minute lessons and I was his. We had a great time during that two week school. Charlie Brown spoke of his family often and I know that he loved them dearly. He will be greatly missed by all that have ever met him or known him. My prayers are with his family during this tragic event. Charlie Brown was a super guy and an even better officer. RIP and GOD BLESS you Charlie.

I wake up today missing my fallen brother even more today than yesterday. What an honor it was to have worked with Detective Brown in Williamston. Charlie you made us laugh, and you were always there to back us up in the thick of battle. Our world became a little darker when you left, but we will carry on for you and continue the work you loved to do. We miss you buddy!

Sad that while we still wept for 3 of our fallen brothers and a sister we lose yet another brother due to senceless violence against protectors of everyone. Your shift is over Brother, you stand relieved. We now have your watch. To all my other Brothers and sisters out there, don't take each other for granted. Enjoy everyday you work together. Share war stories and have BBQ's with your families. Once gone, you can never share those moments together again. God Bless and stay safe.

My sincere sympathy to the family of Deputy Brown, his friends and coworkers. This terrible tragedy took place as we in Washington state were memorializing our four slain officers from the Lakewood Police Department. There seems to be no end to the heartbreak and tears. I will be praying for your family, Deputy Brown, and may your soul be with God who will be the final judge of those who act without conscience. God be with your family. You are a hero and will never be forgotten!
