My brother (Tyrrell County Sheriff) called me this morning and gave me the terrible news. My heart breaks for your family as I know the long road they are beginning - my first husband was killed in the line of duty in 2001. Know there are many survivors out here who are praying for you & have felt your pain. You can make it through this even though you probably don't feel like it. As you go through life now, there is no right or wrong - just do what you feel is right for you. Our hearts will be heavy at Christmas this year because of your loss. God bless you & may he wrap his loving arms around you and carry you through the days ahead.

I was shocked and saddened to hear of the loss of such a fine officer. I had the privilege of knowing Charlie through K9 In-Service Training which we attended. He was a great guy. My thoughts and prayers are with his family and the men and women of the Martin County Sheriff’s Office during this very difficult time. Rest In Peace My Friend.

2 years now since we all parted our ways from work in GA, I hoping that one day I would run into you again. We had great times and we all made great memories together. Your sense of humor made even the worst day turn into something bright. God bless you and your family, and you have nothing to worry about, you know the brotherhood and you know you will not be forgotten. God bless you and your family Charlie Brown.
