Leave a Reflection

Reflections for Deputy Sheriff Charles Douglas "Charlie" Brown, Jr.

I know words can never take away your pain or return the one you love. When pain and evil enter our lives so closely, I know the pain can be virtually unbearable. Please know that there are so many who are praying for peace and justice. I have found solace in the poem below. I hope it may bring you a small amount of peace, knowing your loved one is "Safely Home"
Safely Home
by Unknown

I am home in Heaven, dear ones;
Oh, so happy and so bright!
There is perfect joy and beauty
In this everlasting light.

All the pain and grief is over,
Every restless tossing passed;
I am now at peace forever,
Safely home in Heaven at last.

Did you wonder I so calmly
Trod the valley of the shade?
Oh! but Jesus' arm to lean on,
Could I have one doubt or dread?

Then you must not grieve so sorely,
For I love you dearly still;
Try to look beyond earth's shadows,
Pray to trust our Father's Will.

There is work still waiting for you,
So you must not idly stand;
Do it now, while life remaineth--
You shall rest in Jesus' land.

When that work is all completed,
He will gently call you Home;
Oh, the rapture of that meeting,
Oh, the joy to see you come!

Charlie will definately be missed. Cindy, you and the girls will be in our thoughts and prayers and are only a phone call away if you need anything. Charlie and I have had a blast when we worked together and though we havent been that close the last few years this really hits hard. The thin blue line just got a little thinner.

To Charlie's Wife, and daughters:

I just wanted to take a moment to leave a reflection for Deputy Sheriff Charlie Brown. I met him briefly while he was working for Interact Public Safety Systems in Baltimore. Charlie was a great man, a wonderful father, husband and friend. It is such a tragedy when a law enforcement officer falls in the line of duty, but they are always willing to take that chance in order to protect and serve to keep us all safe. My thoughts and prayers go out to Charlie Browns girls and his wife. I loss my father in the line of duty in 2007, I know your pain... it never goes away..but it does easier. Always remember the good times and memories that's what will help get you through. You are all in my prayers. Heaven got a angel and a true hero...God Bless!

You will never be forgotten by your Police Brothers and Sisters. Thank you for your service to your country and to your community. Rest in peace Brother.

I AM A WARRIOR — by Jon F. Hooper
I stand with God. I fight not for glory or fame, for they are momentary.
I fight for those who can’t. I fight for Justice.
I fight for the oppressed and the downtrodden.
And if I should lose my life for these just causes, then I have no regrets, for I serve to protect the innocent.
It matters not where or when, for evil knows no boundaries.
Be it fire, flood, or the threat of tyranny, I will not flee.
Justice is my weapon. Faith is my shield. Hope is my armor.
Cry not at my passing, for it was my honor to fight for you.
Shed not tears of sorrow, but tears of joy:
For now, I stand with God!

Blessed are the peacekeepers
