Sgt. Andy Tingwall, heaven's gate opened wide and the angels rejoiced as you entered the streets of gold. I had a peace yesterday that our fallen son, Officer Damon K. Talbott, met you at the golden gate with his big smile and began showing you around heaven. It wasn't until today that they found your body at the wreckage, but your sweet spirit had already gone on. Who would have ever dreamed your life would be taken in a helicopter crash almost 8 years after Damon's life ended in a helicopter crash.

I will never forget the stories Damon told us about you when Damon was at the Academy, and the respect he grew to have for you. You impacted Damon's career and life tremendously. It was an honor to have you serve as a pallbearer at Damon's funeral service. I remember looking at your face as I spoke candidly, and lovingly, of Damon's respect for you as his sargeant, mentor, and friend. You wiped the tears from your eyes as I spoke of his love and respect for you. Remember how you made him polish his flippers and run P.T. with them because he was going to be on the NMSP search and rescue dive team. About two years after Damon's death you told us you were going to become a NMSP helicopter pilot. Fear set in me for your safety. When my husband called me in Ruidoso yesterday morning to tell me about the NMSP helicopter crash, I prayed you were not in the copter. My heart sunk when the TV news said your name. Tears continue to fill my eyes as I feel the pain your family is, and will, forever experience. God bless them all and grant them His peace and comfort. We will forever miss you, Sgt. Andy Tingwall. God must have needed another great man to patrol His streets of gold.

I was very fortunate to be in delta company 4th recon unit with andy. I was even more fortunate to attend the school of infantry with him in camp pendleton. I was at a loss for words when I found out that you did not make it. Although I was only an aquaintence over the years I was so sure that if any one could do it you could. I guess god had other plans and needed you some where else.
Take care Marine,

To the family of Sgt. Tingwall, What a loss. I will never forget what an outstanding job Sgt. Tingwall did as the training officer for my son, Officer Damon Talbott when he was in the NMSP academey. Sgt. Tingwall called Damon "Swim Boy" because he was going to be part of the SAR Dive Team and he also made him get his ICe Cream every night. Sgt. Tingwall was one of Damon's pall bearer's when Damon was killed also in a helicopter accidentand in the line of duty. He was truley a friend of our family in our time of need and if there is anything our family can do to help the Tingwall family in this time of loss, please let us know. We are here for you. Andy and Damon are now walking the streets of heaven togather catching up on old times. God Bless you all. Kim Talbott
