Reflections for Police Officer Richard Mark Bremer

A Hero Is:

One Who Is Always By Your Side..
One Who Knows Right From Wrong..
One Who Acts With Pride..
A Hero Touches Every One Of Us,
Whether It Be Word Or Deed..
Always Tending To Those Who Find Themselves In Need..
When A Hero Leaves This Earth, Yes, It's Sad, But True..
All Too Many Times, The Hero Is Dressed In Blue.

Bremer,

I'm glad to have know and worked with you. My thoughts and prayers go out to your family, friends, and co-workers.

DFC Nicole Swailes
Frederick County Sheriff's Office

My heart goes out to Officer Bremer's family, colleagues and friends. While I did not know him personally, as a retired law enforcement officer I truly respect and appreciate what he did for the residents of Frederick on a daily basis, ensuring our safety, protecting our property and keeping the peace. He paid the ultimate sacrifice for us, and his loss cannot be replaced. The city lost one of its most vigilant guardians, his family lost a beloved husband and father, and his fellow officers lost a dear brother. While this is a debt the residents of Frederick can never repay, we must never forget him or all the other fine officers who put their lives on the line for us. May God bless him, his family and fellow officers.

To an old friend and neighbor…..rest in peace my friend, your tour on the streets has tragically come to an end. The rest of your brothers in blue will carry on for you and take care of your family……you served with great honor and your wife, children and family should be VERY proud. We both join this job knowing the dangers but never thinking it would be us. Brother you will be sadly missed.

Bremer family and Frederick Police Department, please know that you are in my families praires during this tragic time. Richard paid the ultimate sacrifice, and for that will always be remembered. I was in Frederick the first week of October, attending the National Fallen Firefigther Memorial, honoring my brother who we lost in 2007. I had the oppurtunity to meet a couple of Officers in the area and must say that it was very much a pleasure being in the area. I do hope you find comfort knowing that Richard will always be a hero.
