You were a Hero on our Streets, sworn to protect and serve. My Family's thoughts and Prayers go out to your Family, Friends, and Co-Workers, and our hearts go out especially to your children, who were cut short of time with their Father. 25 years on the Force, I truely admire you, for making our streets a little safer. Veteran's Day will soon be here, of all people to say it about, you are a TRUE VETERAN!!! Thank You for all you have done. Rest In Peace, and may God Bless and Watch over your Family, the way you did, not only for them, but for us.

May God wrap His loving arms around your family at this time and during the upcoming Holiday Season. Please watch over them everyday as you watched over the City of Philadelphia so bravely. May they always feel your presence around them and feel your love. I'm so sorry that one split second changed life for everyone that knew you. Go walk with God now until your family and you meet again. THe world was blessed because you were in it.

A Poem by me for all officers' families. I retain all rights to the poem. A poem or thought doesn't help anyone when buried in a lost book. So please I hope that you will be able to pass it along to someone who can take hope and pleasure from it.
NEW DREAMS
I know the star when I fear the night,
When I really need to see a light.
I know the tree where I played each day
And neither person nor nature can take them away.
For these things, like my dreams are within my heart
And nothing can ever make them depart.
The tree may go, the star might fade,
But from these memories new dreams are made.
My heart like my dreams seem to be broken
Yet my dreams for tomorrow still have to be spoken.
I will keep trying. I will not give in.
For if I cannot dream no one can win!

Somebody killed a policeman today,
and a part of America died.
A piece of our country he swore to protect,
will be buried with him at his side.

The suspect that shot him will stand up in court,
with counsel demanding his rights.
While a young widowed mother must work for her kids,
and spend many long, lonely nights.

The beat that he walked was a battle field too,
just as if he'd gone off to war.
Though the flag of our nation won't fly at half mast,
to his name they will add a gold star.

Yes, somebody killed a policeman today,
in your town or mine.
While we slept in comfort behind our locked doors,
a cop put his life on the line.

Now his ghost walks a beat on a dark city street,
and he stands at each new rookie's side.
He answered the call, of himself gave his all,
and a part of America died.
