As a 1979 Alexandria Technicla Colege Law Enforcement graduate, and a supervisor of Deputy Jeff Beck who was a classmate of Nick's I want to extend our department's sympathy to all involved. Having lost to classmates who were more importantly friends, I can say the hurt never leaves. All we can do is pray and hoep that all is well with Nick in heaven and that the day will come when we will once again greet these heroes and be with them always. God bless all of you.

Officer Erfle, we were classmates together at Alexandra Tech College from 96 to 98. We didn't know each other very well, but still shared the same compassion for law enforcement. From the looks of the reflections left for you, you excelled in what you did. You are truly a warrior. Rest easy.

Words cannot even begin to make this tragedy feel any less painful than what it really is. The things that will make this unthinkable act of violence go away are the wonderful moments that “Nick” shared with his family, his brothers and sisters at the Phoenix Police Department, and his love for his job and life.

Brother, rest assured that we will never forget what was done to you and by what type of coward. Every day that we go out we will forever remember your call to duty and how you answered up without hesitation.

Please watch over us as we take it from here.

No greater love is there than a man lay down his life for his friend. The City of Phoenix lost a great friend in Officer Erfle as he laid down his life to protect his friends. Go rest high on the mountain my brother. To your family I pray that someday they may find peace again and thank you for the sacrifice you to have made.

I guess the coward who shot you can't be deported and then enter our country to kill another one of us. Your brothers deported him forever. We have the watch now. May God be with the Erfle Family and the Phoenix PD. Rest now brother..

To Officer Erfle's family, my father Sheriff James L. Johnson was shot and killed in the line of duty on Oct. 26, 2006. I know the pain and anger you must be feeling right now. Be at peace knowing that he passed as a hero doing what he did best. May the strength of the lord be with your family.

Officer Erfle, I saw a story about your untimely death on Bill O'Reilly last night. It's about time that this Country stands up and does something that actually works to stem the tide of illegals in this country. Now it is your wife and children that are faced with dealing with a future without you -- that just isn't fair!!

Watch over your family!

Rest in peace Officer Erfle.
