Reflections for Lieutenant Corey Dahlem

Spoon, you are greatly missed my friend. I remember all the times I walked into the PD and you smiled and said, "What's up Ace?" and I would reply, "Not much Spoon." Thinking about you and your family today. God Bless Brother and see you on the other side.

Thinking of your family today, LT. I had a nagging feeling all morning and didn't know why until I realized that today is the anniversary of your death. I'll never forget that night, and the screams of "officer down." I'll never forget 25 and I saying goodbye to you at the hospital. You are still missed and you are never forgotten. Praying for your wife and kids today. My heart is with them.

We will never forget the sacrifice you and your family made to protect and serve the citizens of Florida. Time does not heal the pain in the hearts of those left behind, it only makes it easier to get up each and every day. Continue to rest in peace... HEROES live forever, and you sir are one of them.

LT, Your Noles took it to the Gators yesterday. I can't help but think how much you are enjoying this day. But I guess the odds are even the unthinkable happens every once and a while. So, I will let you have this year but don't get too used to it. Miss you.

Hey LT, I was doing some research on a guy in one of our new databases tonight. One of his reports was approved by you. I saw your name there on that screen and it took me back a bit. I can't help but think how some things might be different at work if you were still around. This department sure misses men and leaders like you. I am not able to go to Washington this year but am going to make it next year. I feel like I am rambling but I sure do miss you. Time does go on and that eases some of the pain but never doubt how much of an impact you made on those of us blessed to have worked with you.
