Reflections for Corporal Marcus Stiles

I give thanks to Corp. Marcus Stiles for protecting our community. I work in a local business and was always grateful to know that our officers were out there for us should we need them. I am so very sorry for the loss of this man. To his family, be proud of your son and what he stood for. I hope that you find peace and know that our community feels the loss also.God bless you.

Marcus was my neighbour until he moved to the US in his teens, he and my daughter Jennifer were friends. The last time I saw him I remember being impressed by his demeanor and grown up attitude. My colleagues, my family and I are very saddened to hear of Marcus's death. We will try to have representation at the service on Saturday. Our hearts go out to Donna, Ken, Katie and Victoria.

Do not stand at my grave and weep,
I am not there, I do not sleep,
I am a thousand winds that blow,
I am the diamond glints on the snow,
I am the sunlight on ripened grain,
I am the gentle autumn's rain.
When you awaken in the morning's hush,
I am the swift uplifting rush
of quiet birds in circled flight.

Marcus,
Although your are gone, your brave and noble spirit is living on in the individuals who received your organs your family so graciously donated. I know you are someone who wanted to help others, and even in this tragic event, you are saving the lives of others. Although I never knew you, my heart is broken that your life was taken away. You truly are someone I hope to see in heaven someday.

The Broken Chain

We little knew that morning that
God was going to call your name,
in life we loved you dearly,
in death we do the same.

It broke our hearts to lose you,
you did not go alone,
for part of us went with you,
the day God called you home.

You left us peaceful memories, your love
is still our guide, and though we cannot
see you , you are always at our side.

Our family chain is broken,
and nothing seems the same,
but as God calls us one by one,
the Chain will link again.
