Reflections for Police Officer Bryan Dennis Tuvera

Wow...I met Bryan when he was 15 while I worked with his mother at Zellerbach Paper. I then got another chance to worked with he and his mother again before he became a policeman at Nationwide Paper. One of the things that always struck me was his hard work ethics and integrity. I know by the way his mother worked and cherished her family that this was instilled in him at a young age. I know he brought this to his community of brothers at the police department, and they will be better for having met and worked with Bryan.
I wish his new wife the strength to get through this, and also his mother and sister. Bryan will never be forgotten...he has touched us all and for that we are blessed!

My fondest memory of Bryan was a strong and silent kid who would not let me copy his work in US History or Government class. Instead he offered to coach and help through my studies. This was in high school and I realize now that he was some one who valued integrity. We were not close friends, yet he was some one I gravitated to because I could sense his intelligence. It is truly tragic that his life ended prematurely. Only by chance did I hear his name and read about his heroics in the news. However, out of all the people I came across in life, I've always remembered him and I always will. I wish I could thank him in person for his sacrifice. I will Never forget him. It takes tremendous courage to take the path that he took. I am thankful that there a many others like him that will carry his legacy on. God Bless you Bryan and all the others in the SFPD who carry the burden of keeping our society safe. You will be missed... not only by those who were closest to you, but by those who you touched with your benevolent graces. South City 1996 for life!

I worked at two different comic book stores in the South San Francisco/Pacifica area that Bryan frequented, and was able to watch him from time to time grow from a nice, polite young man into a nice, polite man. People like the Tuvera family are rarer than anything these days; to lose one more is sad beyond belief.

Rest easy, Bryan, you will be remembered.

We are in tears at this moment after hearing this sad & tragic news.
We were neighbors of the Tuvera family when our son attend the local elementary school through 3rd grade with Bryan. Our condolescenes to his mother and sister and wife. We knew Bryan as a perfect young boy. He was kind, shy, tender, and funny. He was so unique.... a leader and respected at such a young age (elementary school). We knew he was destined to be a hero. God bless you, Bryan.

To the family of Officer Bryan Tuvera, his wife, friends, the SFPD, and to all the men and women of the Law Enforcement Community:

I am deeply saddened to hear of your loss. A brave and courageous man that was called to such a noble profession that gave the ultimate sacrifice. We are proud of Bryan; he did not swerve from the path of duty to protect others, and made an unselfish decision to lay down his life if necessary. His bravery will never be forgotten. I stand tall with great honor and pride for Bryan’s sacrifice because he is a true American hero. Let’s all grieve on such a tragic loss but let us not forget that we must continue to march on and continue to protect and serve just like Bryan would want. He is now in heaven with all our departed brothers and sisters patrolling the streets of heaven. Take care of each other and my prayers to the Tuvera Family. God speed brother.
