Bryan, we are all so proud of you and miss you SO much. It will never be the same without you. I know you're reading this right now from heaven, and I just wanted to say that I'm sorry for not calling you EVERY SINGLE DAY while you were here. Thanks again for choosing me to be in your wedding just two short months ago. I will never forget you. Watch after the whole family, and tell Uncle Ben I said hi...

Sometimes you get the bad guy and sometimes he
gets you.
The shot that killed you also killed a part of us.
It killed a part of your family, both at work and at home.
It killed your dreams, your hopes, your future.
But it must not kill our determination to make this
world a better place or our will to make a difference.
America's streets must be running red with blood with
all the deaths of leos. Every time I come here to leave
a reflection, I feel like my words get emptier and emptier. I am truly sorry for your loss...a loss too great
for words.

Somebody killed a policeman today,
and part of america died.
A piece of our country he swore to protect will be buried at his side.
The suspect that shot him will stand in court with counsel demanding his rights.
While a young widowed mother must work for her kids, and spend many long lonely nights.
The beat that he walked was a battle field too, just as if he had gone off to war.
Though the flag of our nation wont fly at half mast, to his name they will add a gold star.
Yes somebody killed a policeman today,
in your town or mine.
While we slept in comfort behind our locked doors, a cop put his life on the line.
Now his ghost walks a beat on a dark city street and he stands at each rookies side.
He answered the call
of himself gave his all
AND A PART OF AMERICA DIED.

Bryan:

I can't believe we placed you with your Dad today. I have been there so many times throughout the past twelve years, but today was the hardest. I know that you are in good hands, but I can't help but think that you were taken from us way to soon.

The gatherings are not the same without your wit and pranks. We are all trying to cope, but your absence is too great to ignore.

I will keep an eye on your family, you keep an eye on your dad.

We are all missing you. We are all proud of you.

I remember hangin' out with Bryan at South City. We would talk about comics, sports and anything other than school. We cut a few days of school to go to Giants games every once in a while. It was great. He was one of the people I wish I had talked to after I got back from the Army. He was one of the kindest and most down to earth people I knew. It is truly a sad day.
