It breaks my heart to hear more and more officers losing their life because someone wasn't paying attention to their driving. It's not supposed to be this way. You're a hero and gave your life honorably. Thank you for service and I pray for you and for your family.

As I hug my daughter tonight, my last night as a Los Angeles Police Officer, I thank God for people like you. People who do a thankless job in a thankless city, and still have the courage to show up. Hey Bro,
It hurts to see you go. We didn’t want to leave the hospital but you aren’t there anymore. It was amazing to see all the coppers show up at the scene and then again at the hospital. You are truly missed and loved. We will take care of your boys down here while you take care of us from up there. I know “You got my back.”

Last weekend, I had such graphic dreams that an LAPD cop had been killed in a traffic - related incident, that I told a Detective as well as the Watch Commander about the dreams. I was ecstatic when I discovered that no one had died, and perhaps unlike my past dreams related to LAPD deaths, this time, my dreams were off.

All week long I had more bizarre dreams and I did not sleep well at all. This weekend, LAPD lost Officer Dorris in the line-of-duty ( Yep - traffic-related incident ).

It is not a blessing...............

"D": The LAPD and CHP families are hurting with Your passing. May You rest in peace !
