Reflections for Police Officer Matthew J. Melchionda

On behalf of myself and the Readington Township PBA Local #317, our thoughts and prayers go out to the family, friends and fellow officers of Matthew Melchionda. There is no more honorable profession than that of a police officer and no act more noble in our profession than rushing to the aid of a fellow officer.

Matty -

We are so happy that you came into our lives. It seemed that we had known you forever from the first day we met. You were the best husband Lynn could ask for, the best brother Dave could ever have, one of the greatest sons a parent has ever known, the best colleague for the WPD and the best friend that Faith and I could know. We will miss you every day. You will always be in our thoughts, our prayers and most importantly in our hearts. We will do anything we can to help Lynn, Dave and the rest of your family, although we know in our hearts that you are watching over them. Rest easy Matty. We love you.

Kevin and Faith

Lynn, my heart BREAKS for you. Unfortunately, I know all too well your pain. I too, was a newlywed, only married 5 months, when my husband was killed in the line of duty. You and I have so many similarities in our situations and regarding our husbands accidents and I wish I could give you the biggest hug right now. Whenever you are ready, please PLEASE feel free to contact me. If I can do anything for you, please dont hesitate to ask. I will be up there for you in a hearbeat.
