I’M FREE

AUTHOR UNKNOWN

DON’T GRIEVE FOR ME, FOR NOW I’M FREE
I’M FOLLOWING THE PATH GOD LAID FOR ME.
I TOOK HIS HAND WHEN I HEARD HIM CALL.
I TURNED MY BACK AND LEFT IT ALL.
I COULD NOT STAY ANOTHER DAY.
TO LAUGH, TO LOVE, TO WORK OR PLAY.
TASKS LEFT UNDONE MUST STAY THAT WAY.
I FOUND A PEACE AT CLOSE OF DAY.
IF MY PARTING HAS LEFT A VOID,
THEN FILL IT WITH REMEMBERED JOY.
A FRIENDSHIP SHARED, A LAUGH, A KISS,
AH YES, THESE THINGS I TOO WILL MISS.
BE NOT BURDENED WITH TIMES OF SORROW;
I WISH YOU THE SUNSHINE OF TOMORROW.
MY LIFE’S BEEN FULL, I’VE SAVORED MUCH;
GOOD FRIENDS, GOOD TIMES,
A LOVED ONE’S TOUCH.
PERHAPS MY TIME SEEMED ALL TOO BRIEF;
DON’T LENGTHEN IT NOW WITH UNDUE GRIEF;
LIFT UP YOUR HEARTS AND SHARE WITH ME;
GOD WANTED ME NOW.
HE SET ME FREE.

Another coward takes the life of a hero, over a shoplifting charge? How tragic.

Lt. Wax, the fact that you were out there, on the street, assisting in a shoplifting charge AS A LT., tells a lot about your charachter. I never met you, but without even knowing it, you helped pave the way for fellow "sisters" to become LEO's.

Thank you for your service, and God bless your family and the Baton Rouge City PD..

To Vickie. Thank you so much for all that you have taught me. We backed each other up many times before and during my career in law enforcement. I could always count on you for support on and off the street. You were always so willing to help me and countless others on and off the job. My heart goes out to your family and friends. I will never forget you, and you will be sorely missed. Thank you for everything.

May God bless your soul and your family. Seeing this report on television made me so sad to see another officer fall in the line of duty. To the family of Lt. Wax and other officers of Baton Rouge City Police Dept.: as hard as it is to believe, trust that your loved one is now in a better place with our Lord and Savior. Thank you and God bless all those who put their life on the line for our safety and security especially on our own streets here in America. Thank you for your honor, courage, and commitment.
